You do not need an account to use ImgGPT's editing tools. Pick a tool, upload an image, tweak the settings, and download your result. The entire process takes less than a minute.

Step 1: Pick a Tool

Go to the ImgGPT homepage. You will see all available tools organized by category — free editing tools, AI-powered tools, and editors.

Click on the tool you need. For this walkthrough, let us use Compress Image as an example, since nearly everyone needs smaller file sizes at some point.

Step 2: Upload Your Image

Every tool starts the same way. You will see an upload zone in the center of the page. You have two options:

  • Click the upload area to browse your files
  • Drag and drop an image directly onto the zone

ImgGPT supports PNG, JPG, WebP, and most common image formats. There is no file size limit for free tools.

Your image is processed directly in your browser for most editing tools. It is not uploaded to any server.

Step 3: Adjust Settings

Each tool has its own set of controls. For the compressor, you will see a quality slider. Drag it left for smaller files, right for higher quality.

Other tools have different options:

  • Resize gives you width and height inputs plus a fit mode selector
  • Remove Background lets you pick a detection method and tolerance
  • Convert shows a format dropdown (PNG, JPG, WebP, AVIF)
  • Watermark has text input, font size, opacity, and position controls

The interface previews your changes in real time so you can see the result before downloading.

Step 4: Download Your Result

Once you are happy with the settings, click the download button. Your processed image downloads instantly to your device.

That is it. No signup, no watermark, no "upgrade to download in full resolution" tricks. The output is yours.

What About AI Tools?

AI-powered tools like the Magic Eraser, AI Enhancer, AI Upscaler, and the AI Image Generator require credits. You get credits by subscribing to a plan.

The workflow is similar — upload, configure, process — but the processing happens on AI servers rather than in your browser.

Trying AI Generation

To generate images with AI:

  • Go to the AI Generator page
  • Type a text prompt describing the image you want
  • Choose a model (Flux Schnell at 1 credit is great for testing)
  • Click Generate

Your image appears in seconds. You can download it, save it to a project, or refine your prompt and try again.

Saving Your Work with Projects

If you are on a paid plan, you can save images to Projects. This gives you:

  • Organized folders for different tasks or clients
  • Version history tracking every edit you make
  • CDN-hosted URLs you can use anywhere

To save to a project, click the project icon after processing any image. Choose an existing project or create a new one.

Tips for Getting the Most Out of ImgGPT

  • Chain tools together. Remove background, then resize, then compress, then convert to WebP — all in sequence.
  • Use the right format. WebP gives you the best quality-to-size ratio for web images. AVIF is even smaller but has less browser support.
  • Start with cheap models. When generating AI images, test your prompt with Flux Schnell (1 credit) before spending on Flux Pro (5 credits).
  • Bookmark your favorites. If you use the compressor every day, bookmark it directly.
ImgGPT works on any device with a modern browser — desktop, tablet, or phone. No app download required.

You are ready to go. Pick a tool and start editing.
